Mingjian Wang has a B.Sc. in agricultural water conservation engineering from Sichuan Agriculture University, China.
He has an engineering physics and rock mechanics background and took part in the design of the dam of Pushi River in Liaoning province, China. In addition he was involved in research of about water and salt movement in different soil textures under various negative irrigating pressures.

In his free time, Mingjian is a professional traditional Chinese bamboo flute player.
