Annelise Ferry received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Asheville in 2016. After spending several years in high tech, she decided to pursue an M.A. in Maritime Civilizations at the University of Haifa, where she will be focusing on microplastic pollution

Current research

Supervisors: Dr. R. Bookman Dr. Yael Segal (IOLR) and Dr. Dror Angel (Maritime Civilizations)

Her research aims to assess the abundances and characteristics of microplastics in Israeli rivers in an attempt to calculate seasonal fluxes of microplastics to the nearby coastal zone. By understanding these microplastic concentrations, she hopes to arrive at a starting point to more accurately estimate and prevent the microplastic emissions from Israel into the Mediterranean Sea.
